The location of Waterville is only a tad over half a mile north of the main beach in Gulf Shores so you could easily walk there if you are already parked somewhere by the main beach. Although known as the only water park in the area, they also have a few other attractions, including the putt-putt courses. Waterville USA has two 18 hole courses located in their 20 acre park. Their prices this season were $8 and $5 for ages 8 and under. They have sundaes, banana splits, and others delicious treats, like Fried Twinkies, and Funnel Cake Fries. They make specialty items, too, not just scoops in a cone.
Shrimpy’s also is an ice cream parlor serving Blue Bell ice cream in a wide variety of flavors. There are dozens of restaurants, all the major souvenir shops, the main beach, and plenty of other places all just within blocks of the main traffic “T” in Gulf Shores. So, it’s in a great location to walk to if you are already parked in the area.

The plus about this place is that it is right at the main beach area, literally just 2 block north. It’s a pretty flat course and easy for anyone to maneuver around. They have one 18 hole course that is well maintained and has a fishing village theme. Shrimpy’s is a relatively new course in town. They advertise the Adventure Golf courses at $8.50 for ages 7 and up and $6.50 for ages 6 and under. It’s always a blast to play a round of putt-putt and then spend some time in the arcade. All ages will find games that interest them in the arcade area. The arcade has over 100 games including the roller coaster simulator. They also have go-carts, bumper boats, paddle boats, tea-cup ride, lazer tag arena, and the Alligator Alley Arcade. One of the great advantages of this course is that Adventure Island is a whole fun oriented destination with many other things to do.
Awesome features like this skull waterfall out of the mountain make this a fun course for everyone Be ready to climb some stairs as you ascend the mountain. They have this huge 5 story volcano that “erupts” and you can see the fire and steam, feel the vibrations, hear the sounds, and enjoy the thrill. It’s a guaranteed fun time for the kids and adults alike. It’s almost like being on an adventure making your way through the course, with water and mountains around.
They really thought out the course areas quite a bit. I personally rank this one pretty high for a few reasons. Adventure Island has been a fun hotspot for many years and for many families. I’ll start in Orange Beach because there’s only one down on the Beach Hwy. Now, there are a ton of things to do while in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
